As a certified yoga therapist I draw on the wisdom of Ayurveda, yoga’s sister science and India’s traditional system of medicine. Ayurveda is believed to be around 5,000 years old, and is considered to be the longest continuously practiced system of medicine. While modern medical practices focus mainly on symptoms, Ayurveda addresses the root cause of illness with an emphasis on prevention.

The Ayurvedic lifestyle is focused on living in tune with the rhythms of Nature to maintain optimal health. Ayurvedic consultations are based on utilizing Ayurvedic principles to prevent health problems before they arise.

According to Ayurveda, the inner intelligence of your body is what prevents disease and promotes good health. This inner intelligence is expressed through the three doshas : Vata, Pitta and Kapha. The doshas regulate different functions of your mind, body and spirit. When Vata, Pitta and Kapha are in balance, they promote good health and longevity. When the three Doshas are out of balance, they can produce discomfort and disease.

During your consultation, we’ll assess your current state of balance/imbalance, and explore how adapting your daily self-care routines, yoga, pranayama, meditation, diet and lifestyle practices can restore balance, and facilitate your health and well-being. The true aim of Ayurveda is to clarify your body, mind and senses so that you can access your greatest potential for health and thriving.

Your Ayurvedic Assessment & Consultation will include:

  • A multi-dimensional health assessment from an Ayurvedic & yoga therapy perspective
  • Seasonal diet and nutritional recommendations for optimal health
  • Customized, seasonal yoga practices (asana, breath work & meditation) recommendations for optimal health
  • Customized, seasonal lifestyle recommendations for optimal health
  • A follow up call after four weeks to help you reach your goals

My goal is to help you become more self-sufficient in caring for your own health. With proper guidance and education, you can get in tune with your own mind:body:spirit and recognize your own unique needs.
